LazyTax is an installable Codex and ChatGPT plugin that performs the document and reconciliation work around an Indian tax case. It gives the taxpayer a guided concierge and the practitioner a separate review cockpit over one versioned case.

The model inventories evidence, explains discrepancies, and chooses the next typed tool. Deterministic code remains authoritative for calculations, supported tax rules, evidence reconciliation, and the final Tax Proof Pack. Conflicting facts are preserved until a person confirms them; private identifiers are masked in tool output.

The current AY 2026–27 prototype ships nine local MCP tools, golden fixtures, practitioner evaluations, Chromium end-to-end tests, and an executable Trust Lab covering eleven governance claims. It prepares and guides a supported filing case. It does not submit to the government portal, handle credentials or OTPs, replace a CA, or claim broad tax coverage.
